Time for breakfast!

 by Edwige Brun (level B1)

For the last English lessons, we organized a breakfast. But we started at 8h30 am, instead 9 am because, with Mary we have to work hard and no time wasted!

Each member of the group brought something to drink or eat: champagne, fruit juice, coffee or tea and all kinds of cakes.

I had baked a chocolate cake and I am attaching the recipe. It was a nice and friendly end of the year.

Have good holidays.

Discovery of a typical English food

by Pierrette Viennois (level B2)

Do you know "Marmite"? It’s like a jam but a jam a little special : black and salty.

It’s made from yeasts, vegetable concentrate, celery extract and spices. With all that, we can say that it is a concentrate of vitamins ! English people eat it mainly for breakfast with toast. They put it also in soup or with pasta.

People (English or not) either find it repulsive or find it really good.

The brand’s slogan is : you either love it or hate it.

To get your own opinion, test it and you could tell us what you think about Marmite!

ARhome museum visit

Melanie Brumberg took her students to visit the ARhome museum at 113 Cours Berriat.

The museum traces the history of  industrial innovation and in particular, a button-making family company, A. Raymond.

The visit was in English and the students enjoyed it greatly!

Below is a review by one of Melanie's B1 students, Liliane Lefebvre.
